When this game was first released it had many server and game-play issues. however now they are resolved. I love this game. had it for 3 months. It is great for low end computers being that the setttings can go very low, and to the high end machines on ultra the game looks amazing. the gameplay is fun and isnt boring like the old simcity games. It is easy to learn if you dont know how to play. and the aspect of your city getting denser and denser is fun to watch. its nice having a skyline downtown and suburban areas. even bad neighbor hoods! its so realistic

I purchased this through origin after reading that the problems were fixed. I checked the status of the servers the game requires to work and all servers are supposedly up and running. My game has been logging in for over 20 minutes not and it is only at 24%. Do not buy!!! EA also says they will not give refunds even though this product is clearly defective.
***Update***
During my chat with EA, they threatened me with banning my account (if I contested the charges for their defective product) which would make it impossible to play any EA games. I have spent hundreds of dollars on EA games on Amazon, so I called to see what I could do if EA did follow through with their threat to ban me, and Amazon basically told me there was nothing that could be done. I purchased those games so they should be mine. Never purchase downloadable game from EA even if it is though Amazon!!!

I will not review the DRM and the online portion of the game. With that being said this game is still a huge disappointment. It feels like a step backwards, poor traffic flow, poor utility management, poor people management, small city size. Do I need to say more?

Soooo..... to be able to download this waste of a game, you have to log into the company website. However, I live in Korea are this is the only company in the world that does not support English in foreign countries. Therefore, they force you to download the non-English version. That is only if you can navigate through the account creation etc. in a foreign language as well (which I couldn't). EA lives up to it's name as the worst company ever.

You are essentially renting this game, as your ability to play the game depends on the existence of their server. There are no mods available, and the maps are way too small. Way to go, EA...

I was excited for months before this game came out. Had it preordered and downloaded instantly. Too bad it didn't live up to the hype and expectations. Servers failing left and right, game just wasnt working in several aspects. I ended up getting frustrated enough and just never played it after the first week of trying. My free download was better (Bejeweled) that EA offered to all users who purchased the game initially.
Maybe better now if you get it, but I lost interest with all the initial issues.

Great game but found a cheaper price through Steam after purchasing. The game is worth playing but would check around on the price if you are looking for a bargain.

This is easily the best Sim City game to date. I bought the game a week after launch and have never had any issues with connectivity. I love the cloud save feature since I play this game on both my desktop and my Surface Pro tablet. The game has incredible depth and the multiplayer functions work well enough.
I would definitely recommend this game if you enjoy simulation games, it is the best one on the market now.

At first I was excited about this game, I played even through the server issues and all, and after so long I ended up getting really bored of it.. it is not like the old SimCity which could make you be there all the time, if the servers are not working correctly your sims statistics the city info and all wont move around, things would stay if all was perfect, but when the servers work perfectly bang you are screwed... you can end up seeing that your choices on a power plant were wrong and much much more, most of the AI behavior and calculations are made on server side.

As a fan of Simcity 4, Simcity 2000, etc. I was very excited to get to this new Simcity. Once I started playing however, I was left wanting more.
The concept of the next iteration of Simcity is not a very good one. While the previous games were meant solely as a single player game, this game is meant to be a more "social" game. You are given "social" features that allow you to play in the same zones as other player, take part in a larger, "global" trade environment, and be able to help other people out with their cities. These "features" may seem like neat things on the surface, but they end up leaving the game seem a bit broken whenever servers are bogged down, resources don't sent or take forever to be received by other cities, or if the game just stops working in general.
That is not even beginning to scratch the surface for the problems of this game. If you want to try it out I would definitely wait for it to be on sale. I regret buying it for full price.
Also, if you have no played a SimCity game before, try out Simcity 4. It is definitely a much better game.
